Permanently Delete Files
To permanently deletes files, without placing them in the Recycle Bin: hold the SHIFT key down while pressing the Delete key, at the next prompt click YES.
Restart Windows only
To restart Windows without restarting your computer, in the Shutdown Windows box, hold down the SHIFT key and press OK.
Explore Folders
To explore a folder, hold the SHIFT key down and doule-click the folder.
Bypass CD-ROM
To bypass an automatic launch (AUTORUN) of a CD-ROM, hold down the SHIFT key after inserting the CD.
