A color is defined by a number for red, a number for green, and a number for blue, in that order. The decimal numbers used for the 216 web safe colors are 000, 051, 102, 153, 204, and 255; which correspond to the hexadecimal numbers 00, 33, 66, 99, cc, and ff, respectively. Using hexadecimals, white is ffffff, one red is ff0000, one green is 00ff00, one blue is 0000ff, and black is 000000, for example. To have a blue font, you could use: 0000ff.

In the displays below, the three hexadecimal numbers for the color is shown as a six-digit block; and the three decimal numbers for the color are shown as a nine-digit block.

The 216 "web friendly" colors are presented in two ways: in order of "value" (from brightest to darkest), and in order of "hue" (grouped as yellows, reds, blues, etc.)
